Story
With a combined age of 150, three members of YO Sep 94, Colonel Reggie Turner, Lawrie Campbell and Chris Vincent, will be taking on The Royal Marines Iron Challenge as a team on September 19th, 2021 to raise money for the Royal Marines Charity. Two other batch members - Neil Haycock and Rich Hopkins - will be supporting the team by paddling safety kayaks, repairing decrepit limbs, executing high-speed van-bike nutrition transfers and peeling the oranges.
The Royal Marines Charity exists to help the entire Royal Marines family offering a range of services to wounded veterans and their dependants. The Iron Challenge is an ironman distance triathlon including a 2.4 mile sea swim, 112 mile bike around Devon/ Dartmouth (climbing the equivalent of Ben Nevis twice) and a trail marathon, 26.2 miles along the South West Coastal Path with a total climb of 3,500m.
