We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Hi all - I'm asking you as a friend, colleague or family member to sponsor me to walk the "Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge" on 27th June.

In December 18, after struggling with day-to-day living for a few years I was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. I'm now on medication which hopefully will slow down the progression.

A year on, I have come to terms with my diagnosis, although I must admit it took a while! I'm keeping very busy and enjoying life again.

I wake up every day and ask "What day is it?" Then I know what to wear!! The trendy phrase is "living with dementia" and I guess I am.

The Alzheimer's Society does fantastic work sponsoring research into the disease and of course supporting families that are affected by dementia. While a cure \ prevention may be some way off I'm sure they will find one at some point and be able to help people in the future.
But to carry out this work they need funds, hence fundraising events like this one.

Please donate what you can - Thanks Jill xx
