Nutri Advanced Yorkshire 3 peaks, 11 April 2022
Kinder MRT is launching a campaign to fund the replacement of one of our rescue vehicles - essential to provide time-critical, on- and off-road mobility to get casualties safely and rapidly off the hill.

Story

On the 14th of May, me and some of my lovely colleagues from Nutri Advanced will be taking on the Yorkshire 3 peaks. This challenge includes hiking 24 miles and climbing over 5,000 feet, tackling Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough which we are hoping to complete in under 12 hours.

We are doing this challenge to raise money for the fantastic team at Kinder Mountain Rescue. They do admirable work keeping the public safe on the hills in our area and receive no government funding. The KMR team do an amazing job allowing us and our loved ones the privilege of roaming Kinder and the surrounding areas safe in the knowledge that those guys will be at the rescue 24/7, 365 days a year if anything goes wrong.

Mobility is critical in Mountain Rescue; without effective transportation rescue teams would struggle to reach casualties in a timely manner or to get them safely and rapidly off the hill. As part of its resilience planning Kinder MRT has to look to the day that one of the vehicles eventually fails and has to be replaced, with the cost of a new, fitted-out off-road vehicle being in the region of £85,000.
