Story
Five years ago I was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis (MS).
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition that affects your brain and spinal cord. In MS, the coating that protects your nerves (myelin) is damaged. This causes a range of symptoms like blurred vision and problems with how we move think and feel.
MS is something I live with and I manage though medication,
so I would like to think that most people wouldn’t notice I have it.
Last week was MS awareness week, I want to do something
active to raise awareness and give back to the MS society, which is a charity
that has helped me understand the condition as well as fund research into treatment and education of the disease.
I personally would like to change people’s perception of MS
as it isn’t always the instant disability people assume that it is.
So along with a few work colleagues, I am going to
attempt the Yorkshire Three Peak challenge on the 13th July, this
walk, climbs the three highest peaks in Yorkshire over 25 miles.
Hopefully I make it within the 12 hour target but if not I
am counting on the rest of the team to carry me over the line! :)
