Story
Earlier this year one of our colleagues and friend, Simon Woods, was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer. He has coped remarkably well with this, despite the extensive surgery and chemotherapy. We are aiming to get as many trainees and trainers as possible to participate in this event to support Simon, who has selected this charity, which is close to his heart.
We (T&O trainees and trainers) will be riding either 50 or 100km, depending on fitness/experience on September 19th. We would be grateful for any support you may be able to give to help us reach our target. Many thanks.
The Bone Cancer Research Trust is dedicated to saving lives & improving outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer. Despite being small, they fund more research projects exploring primary bone cancer than any other organisation. Other large UK cancer research charities do not prioritise bone cancer patients, in 2019 just 0.028% of their research spend went to bone cancer – not even close to 1%!Last year alone, Bone Cancer Research Trust committed an incredible £807,824 to pioneering bone cancer research - to save lives!
