Story
I will walk over 212 miles from Manchester to London to honour the memory of those who suffered during the Holocaust. Completing the walk on Holocaust Remembrance Day
The Holocaust was the systematic extermination of approximately six million Jews by the Nazi regime and its collaborators during World War II. Many Jews were rounded up and sent to concentration camps, where they were subjected to forced labour, starvation, disease, and mass murder, including the use of gas chambers.
The walk will be a challenging but meaningful way to show support for the victims of the Holocaust and to raise awareness about the importance of remembering and honouring their memory.
In addition to raising awareness about Holocaust Remembrance Day, the sponsored walk will also be a chance to raise funds for the Yad Vashem UK Foundation, an amazing charity that works to preserve the memory of the Holocaust and educate future generations about its lessons.
The funds raised through the sponsored walk will go towards supporting the important work of the Yad Vashem UK Foundation. By fundraising in this walk, you can make a difference and help ensure that the lessons of the Holocaust are never forgotten.
The goal is not only to raise awareness about the Holocaust but also to educate and inspire people to take action in their own communities to promote understanding, and respect for all people.
I will be documenting my journey on all my social media platforms. Each day, I will be posting a video of a victim who we lost in the Holocaust and the positive impact they had.
