I.    Project: Building of A Health Unit

•    EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

MEDICAL CENTRE to be set-up in Yemen serving the needs of the poor and needy also will be established to provide medical and healthcare services for the people of the rural and surrounding area within Yemen Districts.

• There is a great need for an excellent Medical Centre in yemen especially for the poor people which is largely ignored by the current healthcare system and economic situation in Yemen. At present there are none except for the Government Hospital and a few private clinics.

• The Medical Centre will be equipped with up-to-date facilities to cater for the services to be provided

The Medical Centre is expected to provide emergency aid and support to the poor people of yemen with medical treatments. The fund will allow SABA Relief to finance the initial start-up costs, facilities and hospital equipment as well.

•    Improving the level of health in the governorate and districts
•    Reducing the spread of diseases and epidemics through the establishment of units and health center’s

1.3.    The current situation:
Most of the Yemen Cities and its region and its rural areas are vulnerable to the spread of diseases, epidemics and they lack health services for both the rural level and the center’s of directorates. In addition, these areas face the spread of different diseases such as cholera, poliomyelitis, child malnutrition, malaria, Fever - and not all of this led to the large number of deaths in children and others. All these happen because a lack of health facility, medical services and medical staff.
1.4.    The suggested solution:
Create a three-room health unit, laboratory and two toilets
1.5.    Reasons for the solution:
•    Reducing the spread of disease and epidemics
•    Upgrading the health level
•    Availability of medical services
•    Mitigating the suffering of diseases
1.6.    Project Cost:
•    Construction cost = £25,000
•    Medical abortion cost = £25,000
•    Solar energy for the building = £20,000
•    2x Ambulances = £20,000
•    Medical staff wages = £10,000
