Story
Throughout the Autumn term, we have been learning about migration; as part of this topic, we have begun to learn about asylum seekers and refugees. It has come to our attention that over the past few months, war has corrupted Afghanistan, leaving citizens in danger and without a safe home. As the civil war continues, fleeing the country has become more and more common as the Afghani people escape seeking asylum; due to the fact that the Taliban are now exploding the area, the innocent families, who had no choice or say in what is happening, were living a normal life (having needed items to live) until war broke out and it getting destroyed, ruining citizens lives. During this unfortunate event, we would like you to help us raise money and awareness for the people and children, who are running away from their homes just to survive.
Many Afghani refugees have had to make the journey of 3,610 miles (the journey from Afghanistan to the UK) just to get to the UK for safety from the Taliban. As a year group we have decided to take part in a sponsored journey to try and cover this distance from Afghanistan to London in order to raise awareness. We will be walking/cycling/scooting/swimming for the rest of October and would really appreciate your sponsors. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our fundraising story and please help us to raise money for refugees.
