Story
Hello,
I signed up for something pretty crazy and stupid about 4 months ago, an 11 mile swim of the length of Windermere. To be perfectly clear, I am not a swimmer. In fact, I very much struggled with swimming as a child, I think it was the two different types of movement - honestly my dyspraxia didn't help me. However, I truly believe that if you put your mind to something you can pretty much do anything (with a little bit of training and a good positive attitude right?).
To do something this absolutely outrageous, it really has to stand for something and that firstly is the One Life Project. A company that ultimately stand for good health and decided to take on some crazy challenges all to raise awareness for mental health. As we all know the last two years has mostly been a burden for us all, with little or no regard to most people's mental health. For me Covid-19 uprooted my life and how I got through it - was simply exercise. To give myself a goal that still made me feel good and was able to do in the various lockdowns or phases the government has put us through.
This is why I would like to raise money for Mind and I truly hope anyone will support me along the way. This will be the most physical and mentally hardest challenge I have ever taken on and even with a crazy work schedule and a buzzing social life (no complaints here) I am going to give it my best shot. Therefore, if anyone has some spare dollar to give I would hugely appreciate as frankly I am incredibly scared to be swimming for potentially 11 hours straight but willing to give it everything I have for such a good cause.
