Story
Last year, my dad and I ran the Manchester Half Marathon together. Less than 3 months later our world was turned upside down, when he was diagnosed with bowel cancer - and so began the hardest few months of our lives.
Fortunately for my Dad, he was in the safe hands of the Christie who moved extremely quickly to rid him of it. He had some complications which meant he had to stay in the Christie for over a month, and the doctors and nurses worked tirelessly to get him better. He's had 2 surgeries, and we've now found out he is cancer free - we're the luckiest people in the world!
So, this year I've decided to push myself to give back to the people who fixed my running buddy - and run twice what we did last year, a marathon (a half for each of us!)
Any donations will be very much appreciated for such an important & heroic place!
Thanks! x
