750 million people around the world remain illiterate, with a fifth of children not attending school; help us to rebuild young lives today for a better tomorrow.

Story

*Zakat applicable*

Illiteracy amongst adults around the world is shockingly high. Estimates suggest around 750 million adults are unable to read or write, and two-thirds of these are women. Currently, estimates suggest 17 million children lack the minimum standard proficiency in reading and mathematics, and one in five between the ages of six and seventeen are not attending school. For many children worldwide, a loving family home and good education remain a dream, and they are forced to work long hours to fund their families. Millions of children do not even have a home and are forced to live on the street. At Muslim Charity, we want every child to be able to enjoy being just that, a child. We want to protect those most vulnerable and give them a chance to thrive in a safe environment. With your help, we can provide shelter, education and loving home and equip them with the skills and knowledge to better their lives and communities.
