Story
A few years back, just relocated to Myanmar, one of my neighbors told me that if I loved dogs, I should meet Terryl Just. I looked up for her and found out that Terryl was an angel for stray dogs in Yangon, and she became one of my dearest friends during my 5 years stay in Myanmar. She is American working as a teacher in International School of Yangon.
When I met her, she had 12 dogs in her house and as per today, Terryl has saved over 600 street dogs from being poisoned by the city government and takes a good care of every single one of them. She built a shelter for them and founded Yangon Animal Shelter, non-profit organization registered in the US.
She has been spending her teacher salary for these wonderful dogs and even though she receives some donation, she is struggling to cover day to day to day expenses which include food, medicine, and salary of a few staff who take care of the dogs and the shelter.
I hope I could raise some money for her so she could continue caring for these helpless animals. Please check the following website for more details of her work and some success adoption stories: http://www.yangonanimalshelter.com
Terryl is not only giving those dogs a chance to live, she is also creating Yangon to be a better place to live for people. She works together with other international organizations and foreign embassies to control the dog population in the city.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Would be really grateful if you could help Terryl and the dogs in the shelter, or forward this link to dog lovers out there who might be able support her.
