In May 2019, I'm organising and participating in a London to Paris bike ride to raise funds for the Keframa School Build - a charity that aims to build a secondary school for 500 children in Lira, Northern Uganda.
Through pushing myself through 180 miles of blood, sweat and tears, I hope to raise vital funds to ensure that the project can be completed.
We've set ourselves an ambition target as a team of raising £10,000. Please support wherever you can for this amazing cause and help me reach my individual fundraising goal which will feed in to our overall team page.
Please choose gift aid if you are a UK tax payer. Gift Aid is a tax relief allowing UK charities to reclaim an extra 25% in tax on every eligible donation made by a UK taxpayer.
Please note that all participants are covering all of the costs of the event themselves. We truly believe that all the money we raise should go to the school.
I've included some background information about the charity below.
Thanks for your support,
Yan
Keframa School Build:
Education, hope and a future. Three things every Ugandan child wants. Three things the Keframa School Build seeks to provide.
Whilst primary education is relatively accessible in Uganda, the means for secondary school are difficult to come by. The area is deprived of sustainable secondary education for low-income families, and it is still recovering from the impact of the Lord’s Resistance Army, where there are high levels of subsistence living.
The Keframa School Build aims to facilitate and provide:
- Quality education to a greater number of students (current capacity 200).
- A reliable source of education and remove possibility of school closure.
- A safe and secure environment with
clean water and sanitation, as well as facilities for female students to
improve the health and wellbeing of the students.
- Gender equality by keeping the female population above 50% and providing appropriate support and education to
reduce dropout rates.
