Story
Max is aged 7 from Scarborough and has cerebral palsy. He suffered a brain injury at birth and as a consequence, has significant difficulty with motor development, poor core strength and difficulties with balance and coordination. Max relies a lot on his wheelchair to get himself around but we want to try and maximise his potential and ability to walk with a frame and transfer independently. In order to do this, Max needs intensive physio that otherwise isn’t provided sufficiently on the NHS. We’re aiming to raise more funds to cover private physiotherapy costs for the next 2-3 years.
Max had specialist SDR neuro-surgery last year in 2021, for which we got some amazing support with funding-raising. Now is the critical period for Max to access as much physiotherapy as is possible to build muscle and strength. Max also needs specialist equipment which will give him the best quality of life and increase his independence.
In order to raise some funds, Cath (Max’s mum) and a group of friends - Siobhan, Emma and Cass have decided to attempt the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge in October! This is by no means an easy feat and will involve trekking a huge 24.5 miles over Yorkshire’s highest peaks - each at a minimum of 700m. The challenge is to complete this in under 12 hours….
We would greatly appreciate your support with this and it will be an incredible feeling to know we’ve achieved this to raise some valuable funds to make Max’s life that little bit easier and to make his future brighter!
Please support us as much as you can by sponsoring - we would be very grateful!
Thanks
