In a moment of utter madness I have offered to abseil 262 feet off The Orbit Sculpture in the Olympic Park in Stratford this coming August to raise much needed funds for an incredibly important charity.

I will be wearing a Go Pro to capture the amazing views of London on my abseil and for pure entertainment value I will leave the sound on and post footage to my Facebook page.

So why Porchlight?

Porchlight’s frontline teams already bring hope and help to vulnerable people in Kent who are forced to sleep rough, or face losing their homes. But there's so much more to do. Lockdown safety nets that helped the poorest people in our communities keep a roof over their heads have been ripped away. Relationships are breaking down.  Families are falling apart. People’s mental health is suffering. In 2022 Porchlight took referrals for more than 1000 people who were rough sleeping, and our free helpline received over 33,000 calls. The number of people needing our help has risen steeply, and as the full impact of the pandemic and the rising cost of living starts to take hold, we're bracing ourselves for worse.

Please support as little, or as much as you can so that we support Porchlight’s vision to strive for a fairer society where vulnerable people find stability, the most excluded are included, and where homelessness and poverty are things of the past.
