Story
In April I'll be taking on the Brighton Marathon for a second time, but on this occasion will be raising money for the wonderful Pilgrims Hospices.
This year is my 10th year as a community nurse and throughout that time I and my colleagues have received brilliant support from the hospice staff. I see first-hand the amazing work they do to help the terminally ill, as well as their loved ones, who are all treated with such compassion and dignity.
On a personal level I also know many people who have been touched by the work of the hospice, which relies almost solely on charity donations to survive.
I'm hoping to do my bit by battling through a long and daunting training programme before 26.2 miles on the day, and have set myself a target of under five hours.
I completed the Canterbury 10-miler today (Jan 26) and will also be taking on a half-marathon in February and a 20-mile run in March as preparation....as well as long runs on my own every Thursday! #longrunthursday
Anything you can donate would be gratefully received and I know would truly make a difference to someone at the most difficult time of their lives
Thank you. xxx
