Story
Following my diagnosis for stage 3 bowel cancer last year, it's been a marathon of treatment, but I'm nearing the finish line. I'm incredibly lucky that I caught it in time to cure it. I'm hugely thankful and grateful to everyone who's making my full recovery possible (the Colorectal team and stoma nurses at Croydon University Hospital and everyone at the Royal Marsden cancer hospital) as well as the support of family, friends and colleagues. I never thought this would happen to me, but bowel cancer can happen to anyone at any age. On 11 June, I’ll be walking five miles to raise money to help others affected by bowel cancer and I'd really value your support.
Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with more than 16,500 people dying annually of a disease that is preventable, treatable and curable.
Bowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. The funds raised will help provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer and help to campaign for early diagnosis and best treatment and care for all.
