Story
Hey all, so to keep myself slightly fit during the pandemic, I've taken up running (I still hate it, don't worry). Regularly running 5K's and been trying to push myself to a 10K. I was meant to be taking part in a games industry charity football tournament back in April also run by SpecialEffect so this feels like a grand compromise for COVID-19 ruining that plan.
SpecialEffect are an awesome charity who help to bring gaming to those who'd struggle with conventional gaming setups due to physical disabilities and other limitations. They're well-known around the games industry and do fantastic work.
I will not be doing this in fancy dress, sadly, I'm going to struggle enough in normal sports clothes.
See below for SpecialEffect's blurb.

The British 10K is SpecialEffect's longest standing fundraising event, and back in the day a hard core of games industry professionals made something of a name for themselves by completing the race dressed as their favourite video games characters - a tradition that has continued to this day! This year, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic social distancing measures, SpecialEffect have taken this event virtual! We'll be setting off at 9am on Sunday 5th July, on our own local routes with a post-race online meet-up. SpecialEffect are continuing to offer assessments, equipment loans and advice during the Covid-19 lockdown and appreciate your support more than ever!
