Story
Probably 2,000 would get you there...lifting one foot, extending, placing it in front of the other. Repeat 2,000 times. Well, one mile done. But we want to go much further. We want to travel down to Dover, across the Channel, heading south through France and Spain before hopping over to Algeria and tracking south until we reach Malawi. That's some 7,385 miles. That is some challenge.
But collectively we did it- just one step at a time, following a course through the College grounds, little by little. Some ran, others walked, but everyone collectively helped reach our goal.
Because whilst Malawi is often referred to as the "warm heart of Africa" it is also one of the poorest countries in the world. One in fourteen children die before the age of 14, and over twenty percent of these are due to malnutrition. That is why we have teamed up with Sparkle Malawi, a charity dedicated to changing the lives of those who live in Malawi. We wanted to "March to Malawi" and deliver a pretty substantial gift whilst we were at it.
