Story

WE DID IT !

It was a lovely sunny morning as we set off at 8.00 am from The Theatre of Dreams (Old Trafford) on our ride to Blackpool.

The first part of the ride through the outskirts of Manchester was easy and then we hit the hills around Wigan and Chorley. A bit tough but  as trained athletes (?) we all got though it ,without getting off our bikes..

The last section of the ride was a little flatter as we weaved down the lanes from Preston to Lytham St Annes..A bit breezy, on the coast road, but not strong enough to deter our intrepid team as we sprinted our way forward to the finishing line on North Promenade with  the older members singing that familar song:-

Oh! I do like to be beside the seaside

Of! I do like to be beside the sea  etc

Oh! I do like to ride along the prom ,prom, prom with the brass band playing tiddlee om pom pom  etc etc

A great day, followed by a little liquid refreshment in a local hostelry  and then back  to Wybunbury

Many thanks to all of you  for your donations. Its great that we have exceeded our fund raising target. We will be keeping this site open, in the hope that we will attract more donations for such a worthwhile charity

Best wishes and thanks from the team

Ian,Dave,Paul,Stuart,Jon L,Jon,Henry,Martin,Barry,John S,Colin,Dave W,Alan and Howard
