Story
Hey everyone, Tommy here...
June 5th will mark ten years since I set up WTF1 and to celebrate our 10th anniversary, we'll be holding a charity race to support the NHS Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital.
Last year, my brother-in-law Tom sadly passed away after a long fight with heart disease. Without Harefield Hospital's support we wouldn’t have had Tom in our lives for as long as he was, nor would his baby daughter be in this world.
Harefield are in desperate need of funds to help redevelopment of the hospital and we want to help them as much as we can.

Tom's Story
After suffering end-stage heart failure at the end of 2015, Tom received emergency surgery at Harefield Hospital to fit a machine that acted as an artificial heart. He spent Christmas that year in Intensive Care.
In January 2019, and just a month after he and his wife announced they were having a baby, Tom’s health worsened and he was taken in for a full heart transplant. Tom saw this as his best chance to return to living a normal life with his family but it also came with massive risks.
Sadly, there were major complications following the surgery and after 10 days in critical care, he passed away on Valentine’s Day, 2019. He leaves behind his wife, Gina, and their daughter, who was born 8th August 2019.
Despite everything life threw at him, Tom always remained positive. He was a wtf1 super-fan and was hugely proud of everything we were achieving.
With this in mind, and to honour his memory, we are dedicating our 10th Anniversary Sim Race on June 5th to raise money in his name.
Without Harefield Hospital's support we wouldn’t have had Tom in our lives for as long as he was, nor his baby daughter, Bertie.
We want to raise money for Harefield to make sure they can continue to provide care for people with heart and lung disease and one day, help beat it for good.
