Story
Rosie Langello joined WSFA 12 News as sports director in January 2022; she is originally from Lebanon, Pennsylvania, which is just outside of Hershey, yes the chocolate bar! She’s thrilled to finally be living in the South. Rosie’s family was heavily involved in sports as she was growing up. Her dad, Michael, was a running back for the Philadelphia Little Quakers and throughout high school. She has three older sisters who all played soccer, and she played soccer and field hockey growing up. She and her dad coached the Lebanon County Special Olympics soccer team for many years, a team that her sister Anna played on. Rosie’s hobbies include running, reading, watching football and basketball, yelling at the Philadelphia 76ers through her TV and shaking her head at the Eagles.
Amanda Curran joined WSFA 12 News in July 2014 as a Meteorologist; before moving to the Heart of Dixie, Amanda grew up in New Hampshire and spent four years in Vermont where she graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Atmospheric Sciences and her Associate's Degree in Television Studies from Lyndon State College. On top of her weather duties, Amanda loves the opportunity to go out into the community and meet new people. In her free time, Amanda enjoys playing her saxophone, watching football and baseball (go Patriots + BoSox!) and spending time outside, especially at the local bark park with her dog Tanner.
Both Rosie and Amanda agree the Coach-a-Child scholarship is critical to the local company… the money raised allows everyone – no matter their financial ability – to have the same opportunity to participate. Not only are kids getting the chance to be physically healthy, but the YMCA gives them the resources needed to build important interpersonal skills like learning to work together with others on a team, setting goals and building a healthy mindset for life!
