Story
For several years, Wrekin Road Runners has organised a popular event in the local running calendar featuring a challenging off-road event around the trails of the Wrekin aptly named the Wrekin Relay. Each year a charity is nominated to benefit from the proceeds of this event.
Understandably, the 2020 event has had to be cancelled in the current circumstances but Wrekin Roadrunners does not want this year's chosen charity, Severn Hospice, to miss out on vital donations. That's why we are organising a virtual relay event.
On Saturday 11 July, the date on which the "real" Wrekin Relay should have taken place, our club members will be running a solo two mile leg in turn, in what is set to be a long day of running!
Severn Hospice is with families from the moment they're referred to its care for as long as they need it, and it does this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help.It does this for them for free, but it is not without cost and it can't happen without you.For every £1 you donate, they will spend 86p directly on care - and use the remaining 14p to make another £1.Last year, all those individual donations helped us provide £9.88 million of caring services.Thank you - you're amazing!
