Sands is the charity speaking up about pregnancy and baby loss, saving babies’ lives and supporting bereaved families. Together, we are saving babies’ lives and improving maternity safety and bereavement care through research, training and campaigning.

Story

Three of us (Sam, Simon and Hayley) have decided to ride from one side of the country to the other to raise money for a charity close to our hearts; Sands.

The ride itself, is roughly 150 miles. We plan to do this over 3 days.

Sands is an organisation which can offer you support when your baby dies during pregnancy and after birth.

17 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth everyday in the UK.

Though sadly many stillbirths and early deaths are unavoidable, there is evidence that a significant number of stillbirths could potentially be prevented.

Sands are working to promote research and improvements in practice which could save babies' lives.

Sadly, Hayley's niece was stillborn at 35 weeks. We are riding in memory of Elizabeth Rose Warren, and also to offer support for Dawn and Mark who have been incredibly brave through this difficult time.

So please be generous and help us donate to this deserving charity.
