Story
40 years ago, in the British Army Air Corps and after an accident on leave, my leg was amputated above the knee. However - the Army helped me recuperate and realise I was only disadvantaged (not disabled). Now it is my time to help other soldiers and their families by raising funds for ABF The Soldiers' Charity.
On the website www.soldierscharity.org you will see how
the charity helps soldiers, veterans and their families in need. It has always been a charity I support. I hope you can also.
During 2022, we recognize the 40th anniversary of the Falklands Conflict. We should also remember those who died or are wounded, and their families, during more recent military engagements. The Charity also helps veterans from encounters prior to 1982 as they age and are in greater need.
Please support my handbike ride to Arnhem (4th to 9th September) and the training I have started. Soldiers and their families will be the beneficiaries.
I have linked JustGiving to my Strava account. You may be interested in following my handbike training. Please also watch Instagram @handbike321 for photograph and achievement updates. To handbike the 335 miles to Arnhem I am training to achieve 70 - 80 miles per day! I am keen to enjoy the 5 day tour with time to study the battlefields and war cemeteries, especially those in Arnhem where the Glider Pilots paid such a pivotal role. The Army Air Corps was born from the Glider Pilot Regiment. You will recognise why Arnhem and the Army Air Corps mean so much to me, as does The Soldiers Charity.
I hope you feel able to support me, and if you pay tax then please
Gift Aid your donation, as every £££ helps this excellent charity give support to soldiers and their families in need.
Donating through JustGiving is secure and they send your money
direct to the charity ensuring the funds reach their target promptly and with the minimum of administration.
Thank you for helping me raise funds for those in need and
encouraging me to train on my handbike to achieve the strength and fitness to reach Arnhem in September. My Instagram is @handbike321 if you are interested.
