The magic in doing good.

Fundraising for Easter Seals Massachusetts
About a year and a half ago I joined the workforce again
after nearly 18 years of raising our children and managing my own small business. Easterseals Massachusetts has provided a great place to land. I remember in my interview, the President and CEO of Easterseals MA telling me that I didn’t have to know everything about everything that Easterseals does, but I would find that one connection that was meaningful to me. He said that I would find that moment that drew me into the mission. He was right. That moment happened for me in October when delivering a trike for a boy, Kitanga, at an elementary school in Springfield MA. Kitanga has a form of Muscular Dystrophy and having a trike allows him to travel safely between classes. Easterseals MA worked with Bob Charland, the
Bike Guy, in Springfield to make the delivery happen. It was a beautiful autumn day when we met with the Principal of the Brookings school and Kitanga’s family. The photo of Kitanga tells the story with greater
justice than I could ever in words. It changed my life.
There is a sort of magic that comes from putting some good back into the world. This is just one of the many occasions that I have witnessed the importance of the Easterseals mission and the empowerment of in the pursuit of that mission. Creating this magic involves the staff at Easterseals, the clients we serve, the countless volunteers, board members and support from individuals and corporate partners. Together we can create real and substantive change. Whether you can give $5 or $500, please know that it all makes a difference. Thank you.
