Story
First of all we (your Coalfields Events Organising Team) would like to thank Everyone who attended this year’s event last Saturday, it was a massive success and the positive feedback received has been well received.
What’s Happened?
After the event has finished a massive amount of time and effort goes in to cleaning up and closing down the Festival and during this process we have had our batch of twenty walkie talkies stolen during their transfer to the supplier we hire them from.
Unfortunately our Event Insurance does not cover their theft Due to the items been in transit.
This is heart breaking for us as a team as we put our hearts and souls in to planning, delivering and closing down Coalfields each year and all the profits made go to local charity causes with our main benefactor been the Barnsley Hospice.
The cost of replacing the Walkie talkies is £2.5K as there were twenty of them and this has completely written off the donation we had planned to make to our benefactors this year, so we are asking for your help through donations to help cover the costs of the Walkie Talkies and to make sure we can make a worthwhile Donation to the Hospice and some other charitable Organisations within our Community.
EVERY LITTLE DONATION TRULY MATTERS…
We have already received £200 from our Coalfields Outside Bar Team which has been matched by Barnsley Woolley Miners Cricket Club who are the venue hosts. So a MASSIVE Thanks to those Guys…
It makes you question is it worth it, but I for one can’t stand by and let these people win, we all know the PC police and our Government haven’t got the strength to deal with the people that carry out these act so it’s up to us to stand up and be counted and make sure that community events that benefit local charities like Coalfields keep going and growing for the future.
The details on how to Donate are listed, so please Donate and tell your Friends & family about us too.
NB: If anyone hears anything or comes across the Walkie Talkies them please call Steve Bell on 0738 4836331, it has already been reported to the Police, so hopefully we might find the perpetrator and bring closure this awful event.
