Story
The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust are tracking woodcock migration paths using satellite tagging technology and this cutting-edge research is enabling the charity to identify the threats and risks to woodcock from climate change, deforestation, marsh drainage and intensive farming across Europe.
The cost of buying, fitting a tag and monitoring a woodcock on its epic migration for one year is £3,500. The GWCT want to tag as many birds as possible so enough data can be gathered during this ground-breaking project.
