The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken 30 years of gender equality gains, and continues to have an unprecedented impact on vulnerable women, girls and gender-diverse people. During the pandemic, the Canadian Women's Foundation was able to make a difference in the lives of over one million women, girls and gender-diverse people in Canada by ensuring they had the programs and services they needed to move themselves out of violence, out of poverty and into confidence and leadership.
As the end of summer approaches, let us not forget that women, and especially women of colour, are vulnerable members of our society and need our support. In addition, the end of the year and the colder temperature presents a challenge for disadvantaged women, and we need to do our part so we can thrive together as a community, and a country as a whole.
