Story
The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that we have sadly had to cancel training, the outdoor cricket season and of course Roses. However, we are still passionate about cricket!
Therefore, we have decided to raise money for Chance to Shine, a charity that delivers cricket both in schools and on the streets all around the UK. Only 1 in 5 children in the UK get the recommended 60 minutes of exercise per day. This is even lower for girls, those from BAME backgrounds and those from low socio-economic backgrounds. Chance to Shine aims to help tackle this through the magic of cricket. It gives children who might have otherwise not have had the opportunity, a chance to play cricket. They offer training and competition in SEN schools and in areas of high deprivation in the UK, giving all children to access cricket and develop life skills associated with it, such as leadership and teamwork. Clinicians have also been impressed by the improvement they have seen in children with physical or psychological trauma after beginning to take part in cricket. They offer all of this completely free of charge, so depend on donations to keep their work going.

Lord's Cricket Ground is known internationally as the 'home of cricket'. So we have decided to walk the distance from the University to Lord's. We will be covering the distance of 194 miles collectively. Each walking our share of the journey we will be keeping everyone updated virtually and maintaining our team spirit - being together while staying apart.
We would really appreciate anything you can give to help this charity stay up and running at this difficult time and continue to support children throughout the country with the power of cricket!
Thank you
