Story
The inaugural festival was funded by founders Rachel Auty and Andrew Cameron in 2017, and thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign grew by more than 100% for 2018. In 2019 we attracted sponsorship from leading UK beer brands and the flagship annual event grew again - this time by a further 200% to 5 days, 13 venues and 25 events across Yorkshire.
As a Community Interest Company we are committed to our cause and we reinvest our profits to further our mission.
Following orders to #stayhome we're bringing this years festival online. A free event that you can take part in from home, offering talks, quizzes and music to name a few. All we ask in return is for you to kindly donate to our chosen charity Refuge UK, and to read their story below.
"One woman in four will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime and two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Refuge supports around 6,000 women & children on any given day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.By kindly sponsoring us today you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and children escaping domestic violence. Thank you."
