Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. In support of my London marathon 2019 fundraising efforts for Action for Children my amazing musical colleagues in the orchestra of WNO came up with the idea of taking a grade 1 exam on an instrument they’d never played before. It’s fair to say it’s been fairly hilarious so far, but also much harder than we’d realised- it’s made us appreciate our colleagues more and is getting less funny as the exam draws near! With challenges such as a cracked bassoon, slipping cello pegs, a flute that insists on being sharp, finding a xylophone to practise on and simply having enough puff to get through those pieces and scales without passing out the tension is building! Although this is a fun idea the marathon and fundraising were as a result of wishing to show our support to our colleague’s family following the terrible loss of their daughter.
