Story
On the 12th June 2011 Steph, Amy, Katie, Lou, and Nicole are going to walk 13.1 miles around Stoke dressed as characters from Wizard of Oz in order to raise money for the charity Breath of Life.
Steph decided to walk the Potters Arf Marathon in order to set herself a challenge and raise money for the new cf ward and equipment needed by cf patients such as herself. As friends and family we decided to accompany Steph on her mission to give her our support and help her raise awareness of cf.
As for the wizard of oz costumes... that’s due to Steph’s love of fancy dress and will bring extra attention to us and primarily the charity!
Please help us to support Steph both on the day and by giving money.
The charity:
BREATH OF LIFE
Breath of Life is a charity which fights respiratory conditions and lung disease in North Staffordshire. We help with funding for research into lung disease, provide respiratory equipment and help people to take care of their lungs.
THE CF PROJECT
This project is to help people with Cystic Fibrosis. Breath of Life’s CF Project wants to help patients at home to buy equipment or help fund for gym memberships to try and reduce the need for stays in hospital. We also want to make the hospital facilities equipped with everything CF adults need and want when staying in hospital. We expect that this will within a purpose built, CF ward that is anticipated a part of the new hospital plans.
