50k walks- 04-14 Feb · 2 February 2023

As the cost of living crisis worsens, the family budgets of children and young people with cancer are at breaking point. This World Cancer Day take on a Young Lives vs Cancer challenge so no one goes without.

Story

Let’s show cancer who’s boss! Our team decided to join thousands of supporters and cover 50k between 4th – 14th February by walking, running, and cycling to raise money to support Young Lives vs Cancer's Crisis Fund.

To show my support i am aiming to go for 100km by the 14th, and if i can hit 100km maybe i can go further and go for 150km!  Will you help me?

(Update Feb 6th) I've hit 50km, on course for 100km!

(Update Feb 9th) I've hit 100km, Next Goal 150km!

(Update Feb 11th) I've hit 150km... sooo lets go for 200km!

(Update Feb 14th) I've hit 200km... Put a fork in me I'm done!

Why it is important?

Bills are rising faster than wages, prices continue to increase, and many household budgets are stretched to breaking point.... For families where a child or young person has been diagnosed with cancer the costs and risks are even greater. They have to find, on average, an extra £730 a month just to cover everyday essentials. And as winter continues, any savings are disappearing and families are facing impossible choices.

Young Lives vs Cancer's Crisis Fund, which is made possible by supporters like you, has already helped hundreds of families facing financial hardship.

This World Cancer Day, as more families' budgets reach breaking point, they need your support more than ever.
