I grew up in Poland in a loving family and although my parents never struggled to put food on the table or ensure my education, there was little money for anything but necessities. 

Annoyingly there was endless hand-me-down from my older sister, for years I trained athletics in Converse-like shoes and relied on donations from my friend's parents every time there was a school trip to be paid for... I wasn't the only one and altogether it felt relatively normal 30 years ago... 

But it breaks my heart to know so many kids nowadays go hungry, live in unhygienic or unsafe conditions, do not have access to education and health system - things I took for granted! It feels right to do my bit to help and as running is a good solution to any problem I will run to make the world a little better for unprivileged kids....
