Women V Cancer Ride the Night is the largest women-only cycling event in the UK, with around 3000 riders.  The ride starts from the Royal Windsor Racecourse, following a 100km route into London and back to the racecourse (see the website http://www.ridethenight.co.uk/index.php for full details).

We are taking part in Ride the Night to raise money for three extremely worthwhile cancer charities - Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action, raising vital funds to fight breast, cervical and ovarian cancers.   A lot of people have been touched by cancer in some way, whether they have suffered themselves, lost loved ones, or been one of the lucky ones that vital research has helped to save.  We hope that by raising our target of £800, we will be able to help the fight against cancer in some small way.

We are also looking forward to challenging ourselves – none of us have cycled 100km before, so we are going to be trying to get fitter over the winter months and into spring, ready to cycle 100km through the night at the end of May.  Our sponsorship has to be raised by the end of March.  Just the cost of one cup of coffee from lots of people would make a huge difference to raising these funds….please be generous enough to sponsor us and support these great charities.
