This year I’m doing something for the community, that is fundraising for the 5Alive Project, which is essentially a new project that emerged in the wake of COVID-19 to assist vulnerable groups in the community stay alive in particular, those who’ve been mostly affected by the pandemic. These are through the following 5 ways:

1.    Weekly Soup Kitchens - provides hot soup / light meals for the homeless & those in need 

2.    Food banks - provides basic groceries for those struggling to afford them

3.    Night Angels - night-time outreach providing basic hygiene, clothing & food packs for those sleeping rough 

4.    Give warmth appeal - focuses on bringing warmth to children, inmates, the elderly & other vulnerable groups through gift giving & provision of items to assist them get through the colder winter months 

5.    A 24-Hour helpline - for those in need of a listening ear 

So far we’ve been helping and feeding over 1,000 people collectively (including families) per week since this work started in the first lockdown so there is a growing demand for this work to continue.

And due to the marvellous works of this Charity, I reckoned the best gift I could get for Christmas this year would be helping someone get through December and the upcoming months as we transition into a new year.
