Story

For the 8th year, we will be entering a team into the Belfast marathon. This year Harry, David, Keziah, Cameron, Caomhan, Steven, Josie, Joth, Jaki, Racheal and Rhi will be taking part in the team relay!

We’ll also hopefully have Willy’s Warriors running, walking, cycling, horse riding and swimming across the world at the same time. Willy would have been so proud of us all and the incredible amount of money raised.

Thank you to everyone who's taken part in the Willy's Warriors team and to all who have supported and donated. We are completely blown away and so thankful to be surrounded by such amazing family and friends. We are very excited to announce that we’ve raised over £14k for Marie Curie!! 💛💛💛

We are raising funds for the Belfast Marie Curie hospice charity, who were a huge help and support to Willy and the family. Willy joked that he was 'the fittest and sickest he's ever been' after the weekly physiotherapy sessions that Marie Curie provided for him.

Willy and sometimes the kids went watch the Belfast marathon, to support and cheer on the competitors. More often than not, he would spot a familiar face on the course and spur them on with a wave and a cheer! The Belfast marathon has become somewhat of a tradition for our family and friends since we first took part in 2016. We upload photos as we go, which you can follow by liking our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/willyswarriors

Fundraising initially started with his daughter Josie making and selling loom-band bracelets and key rings; the money she raised was then taken down to the local Cancer Focus charity shop, totalling over £100!

From this the fundraising went on, and after many activities, including his niece Jaki running the London Marathon, over £10,500 was raised for Beating Bowel Cancer. Following that, we have now raised £10,094 for Maire Curie, from today's events and past Belfast Marathon runs, and a 26mile walk completed by Laura & Dannie.

In 2023, Harry, Rozzy, Dan & Richard completed the Rome Marathon, joined by Nikki, Karen, Sam, Josie, Tiffany & Rachael who were there to support them as they go round. Since we began fundraising for several incredible causes; we have together raised a phenomenal £20,624 in memory of Willy Knox. Thank you to everyone who have donated!

Thank you very much for visiting our page and for your support.
