Will's 100km Walk

Fundraising for Leukaemia UK
On the 5th June, 2020, I completed a 100km continuous walk in just over 16 hours, in order to raise money for Leukaemia UK. Having originally set out to complete the Thames Path Challenge on 12-13th September, due to corona virus the event was cancelled so I instead decided to do it around my local area (see Strava map below).
Across my 49 days of training (7 weeks), I averaged just over 12km a day, followed by the 100km challenge, taking my total distance walked in 50 days to 700km (14km), and walked for a total of 113 hours.
In November 2017, a family friend of ours, Bryony, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, and sadly passed away earlier this year. In the past months, a friend, Harry, of the University of Birmingham Cricket Team, has also been diagnosed with the same disease.
Leukaemia UK are a charity that as a result mean a lot to me, and any amount at all donated is greatly appreciated, and I hope that my training and efforts put in replicate such donations.
In order to add to the challenge, I completed this challenge in its entirety in my Air Max’s - Blisters? Bring them on! (If you know, you know).
