We support children to talk and understand words

Story

So you are probably wondering why am I doing a marathon? The thought has crossed my mind many a times, given that I've got two flat feet, a dodgy back and I've never run further than a few miles!

Well it's a mixture of things! Some of it is about personal accomplishment, some of it is fighting the middle age spread but most of all it is to say thank you to the staff at I CAN.

As many of you may know, my son Elliot has autism and other associated difficulties. Elliot currently attends Meath School, one of the I CAN schools. In the few years that he has been there, Elliot's speech and communication skills have really come on! This year, is Elliot's last at Meath and running the marathon is my way of thanking the staff at Meath and I CAN in helping Elliot and many other children like him find their voice!

Every bit counts and with gift aid it quickly adds up!

So please dig deep and donate now!

About the charity

At least 1.9 million children in the UK are struggling to talk and understand words.  We give children and young people the skills they need so they aren't left behind. We do this by creating tools for schools and nurseries, giving advice and guidance to families and putting pressure on politicians.
