Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My mum was diagnosed with lung cancer in December 2020. She was given treatment at the Beatson Hospital in Glasgow,  which posed a bit of a challenge for her as we live in Ayrshire and my sister and I wouldn't always be able to help with travel to her appointments.

This is where Ayrshire Cancer Support come in. They offer, amongst many other services, volunteer drivers who take the stress out of getting to and from appointments. These drivers give up their free time helping people who might otherwise be unable to access treatment owing to distance, disability, or any number of obstacles in their lives. The support they provide is invaluable and I want to show my appreciation by raising funds for this vital charity, which I hope will help them to support people in Ayrshire when they need it most.

Sadly mum passed away on 22nd December 2022, however I hope that we can find a positive from that and raise money for such a worthy cause.

Through the year I'll be doing the Glasgow event on 30th April with my friend Alison (and maybe others), before Aberdeen on 4th June, Dundee on 20th August and finally Edinburgh on 17th September.

Please consider donating to this amazing charity to help them to help the people of Ayrshire.
