At 0600 on 26 Jul 20 I will be setting off with a great group to complete an Ironman distance triathlon in South Devon. It will be the first time this route has been attempted and we'll cover 2.4 miles swimming, 112 miles cycling and 26.2 miles running. As it's Devon the land element will come with no shortage of hills! The cycle will see us climb the equivalent of Ben Nevis twice, with a punishing marathon chaser along the SW Coastal Path with ascent that equates to scaling Scafell Pike from sea level. All of this back-to-back.

You may know I'm partial to a triathlon (and a challenge) and have watched all my planned races be cancelled this year one by one. I'm grateful to Monty for the opportunity to bag my first Ironman and it comes with the added bonus of raising money for a great cause. The RM Charity has had to cancel a number of fundraisers planned for this year which makes your support all the more welcome.
