We fund research and raise awareness to create a world free from meningitis

Story

I will be running from Ullapool to the Skye Bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh in the North West Highlands of Scotland starting on the 29th of November 2019 in hope of finishing on the 30th November 2019, it is approximately 113 miles the route I am taking following roads through the Torridon Range, starting at 04:00 I shall be running a lot in the dark and I expect very low temperatures . Currently I am in training, I have never done anything like this before and I will not be breaking any world records but I know it is going to be very tough indeed. During those dark times where I am losing the will to carry on I will consider some of the people who I know that have suffered the effects of Meningitis, when I am feeling better a few weeks after and I am planning my next big effort people like Sofia Crockatt will still be in pain and will still have terrible issues related to this horrible disease. So in short for me 2 years of training and about 30 odd hours of pain and effort however difficult are just a small gesture. I hope every red penny raised goes to good use, I hope the fact that I am doing this helps some people to realise exactly how serious Meningitis is and inspires some others to read up, volunteer, take part or agree to childhood immunisation. Please donate as little or as much as you can afford.

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
