Story
Well - WE DID IT!!! Finishing in 12 hours and 56 minutes.
I've posted a small number of photos in the gallery above to give you a taste of the hills.
A short summary of the day:
The swim - nothing to report - Colin marginally ahead of me in about 40 minutes
The hills - steep, cold and damp, with limited visibility - 7 hours something; the downhills were hell.
The kayak - a head wind, of course
The bike ride - almost enjoyable. We even managed to make up a place!

On 31 July, Will Slack and Colin Hector will line up for the start of the Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon on the shores of Loch Tay. We will hopefully swim across the Loch (0.8 miles), run/walk for 15 miles over seven Munros, kayak the length of the Loch (7 miles), and finally ride our bikes 34 miles around the Loch.
It should take us about 12 hours! We will not be winning, other than the fatties from SW London category.
The event is being undertaken in aid of Mary's Meals, a charity that we know well as it is a charity that the boys have supported at Tower House School for many years.
Mary's Meals is a simple idea that works. By providing a daily meal in a place of education, Mary’s Meals encourages chronically poor children to the classroom where they can gain a basic education that provides an escape route from poverty. Our vision is that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education. It costs just £15.90 to provide a child with school meals for a whole year and Mary’s Meals commit to spending a minimum of 93% of their income on charitable activities. Mary’s Meals projects are owned and run by the local community and only made possible because of the incredible support of volunteers around the world. From it’s humble beginnings in a shed Dalmally, just an hour from the home of the Quadrathalon, Mary’s Meals is now reaching over 1.8 million children in 19 countries!
