Story
We started playing golf together when we were allowed to, during COVID at our local municipal course, Pype Hayes.
COVID affected us in different ways, our work life, home life and our mental health, and golf was our saviour, a place of solace and our way of escaping from the crazy world we found ourselves in…BUT we all had homes to go back to.
Some young people aren’t so lucky. We’re not talking about play golf! We’re talking about having somewhere to live, a home to go back to. A safe place to sleep.
St Basils works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. They help each individual find and keep a home, grow their confidence, develop their skills and increase their opportunities.
It costs St Basils £5 per person, per night to accommodate a Young Person, and currently they support 590+ young people across the West Mids.
We’re not playing golf this time, but getting on our bikes to ride around the canals of Birmingham to raise as much money as possible to ensure that a Young Person has somewhere safe to sleep. If you can, please donate to our page so that we can support St Basils’ fight to end youth homelessness.
