Story
While we’re all socially distancing and cooped up indoors I decided to think of a way to keep myself active and also set myself a challenge.
I’ll be cycling 874 miles over 2 weeks, to replicate the traditional John O’Groats to Lands End cycling challenge, albeit from the comfort of my living room!
Given the scale of the challenge I also thought it would be good try and use this to do some good for others in the current climate and so I hope that you might be able to donate to the response and recovery fund for the north east which is a charity supporting the region through the current pandemic (some more info below).
Please spare some cash if you can, but more importantly than that, please familiarise yourself with the charity to raise awareness of its work and how it may be able to help our community over the coming weeks.
Thanks in advance! All support very much appreciated!

Through the Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund, we will award grants to local charities and community organisations across Tyne & Wear and Northumberland in two stages: response and recovery. In the response phase, we will get extra money to organisations that we know are supporting older people and other vulnerable groups affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. In the recovery phase, we will fund a wider group of local charities and community organisations whose operations and finances have been affected so they can recover and continue their activities once the outbreak eases.
