Story

Please sponsor Will, Beth and Simon as we tackle the Bristol Half Marathon for Help Rural Nepal with the ERM Foundation.

Help Rural Nepal is a charitable organisation whose overarching objective is to help sustain and develop rural communities in by improving children’s education, adult literacy and job opportunities.  One of the founding objectives is to prevent the outmigration of children from these communities to orphanages which is a systemic mechanism for them to receive an education.

HRN to date has contributed to the development of a school in a village within the Dhading district, provided ongoing sponsorship for 2 teachers, and provided medical assistance to children with the most need within the community.

The first project which the ERM foundation will assist HRN with is the provision of solar power to the school.  This will provide clean electricity and bring HRN a step closer to delivering other key objectives.  These include; an extended adult literacy programme and health clinics.  This school has the potential to be the central hub of a community providing key services and ensuring the long term sustainability of the rural community.

So please dig deep and support us as we take on all 13+ miles of the Bristol Half Marathon.

Thank you for your donation – Will, Beth, Simon and Help Rural Nepal (www.helpruralnepal.org).
