Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Due to my enthusiast "dad dancing" I seemed to have given the somewhat mistaken impression that these "skills" will seamlessly translate into a formal dance routine.
As a result, and in a moment of madness, I have succumbed to a request to dance at the hugely popular (A Little Less ) Strictly Come Dancing Event on 16 March at the Glasgow Hilton, with my professional dance partner, and two times champion, Maria Oakes, who has been trying her very best to teach me to jive!
So with the dance and the outfit chosen, I just need one more thing, and it is the only thing which truly matters, and that is the support of family, friends, clients and contacts to help me raise as much cash as I possibly can for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice Trust, for whose benefit the event is held.
I am sure that most of you will know that last year, the Trust opened its incredible new state of the art facility in Bellahouston Park, providing palliative care to the people of Glasgow. That facility required £21 million to build and the Trust raised the money to complete it through its many fundraising ventures. Now complete, it is something of which the people of Glasgow can be very proud, but the fundraising must continue as it costs £5 million every year to keep the doors open.
So whilst the thought of stepping out on that dance floor fills me with trepidation, I will do so knowing that every penny which I raise in sponsorship, will contribute towards the on-going funding of what is a quite incredible facility which brings some little respite to those who are ill and to their families. So please, dig deep to support the work of this fantastic charity .
