Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Archie and I are off by bicycle to Paris and I ( but not Archie !) am training hard. We are cycling for the Tom ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust.
Tom ap Rhys Pryce, was robbed and killed by two youths in January 2006, as he walked home from his local tube station in North West London. Tom's life was taken for his mobile phone and Oyster Card. He was 31 years old.
In an effort to ensure that as much good as possible comes out of this tragedy, Tom's parents (John and Estella ap Rhys Pryce), Andrew Hughes (a partner at Linklaters LLP, the law firm at which Tom worked), and Adele Eastman (Tom's fiancee), set up a charity as a lasting memorial to Tom just a few weeks after his death.
Adele is a colleague of mine at Farrers and has devoted much of the last four years to helping set up and promote this wonderful charity which provides educational and vocational training opportunities to disadvantaged children and youths who might not otherwise have access to them - in the hope that they can achieve their potential and lead rewarding lives; the charity also helps tackle the root causes of violent gang culture and violent street crime. It is a very worthy cause.
