Story
Hello,
I am cycling from Durham to Edinburgh in a team of 45 riders to raise funds for Renewable World, a UK based charity tackling fuel poverty in developing countries.
Renewable World works with communities in Asia, Africa and Central America to develop and provide small scale renewable energy systems (such as wind, solar, hydro and biogas) to encourage self sufficiency and alleviate poverty.
Following the terrible news of the earthquake in Nepal, Renewable World needs your support now more than ever.
Many of the communities that Renewable World works with have been severely affected by the largest earthquake to hit the region in 80 years. Fortunately, the Renewable World staff and their families are safe, but large scale damage to the communities where work has previously helped so many is expected. Essential systems that have been installed are likely to be broken, depriving communities of the water and energy they so desperately need.
Renewable World is committed to restoring the life-changing services that these communities once had access to, whilst pressing forward with its mission to alleviate poverty around the world.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for your support, a small donation can make a huge difference.
